What few may realize is that in addition to Michael’s unparalleled knowledge and passion for the cuisine and wines explored, these trips also give him an opportunity to exercise his creative talents.
Michael developed an interest in photography at a young age, capturing images of family events since the age of nine, later taking several classes and serving as a yearbook photographer at Sarasota High School (1972-1973). Today, he revels in documenting his global travels from behind the lens and sharing the majestic images with family, friends and clients in Sarasota. Of all the destinations he has enjoyed visiting and photographing, South Africa has captured a special place in his heart. It is the love, natural vigor and awe-inspiring experience of SAFARI that he cherishes most. We hope you'll enjoy browsing a handful of Michael's favorite images from past journeys below!

Together, Michael and Terri have been blessed with six children, plus a multitude of extended family members as well as friends who are almost like family. In addition to hosting many clients who have grown into close friends during Gulf Coast Connoisseur Club journeys, the Klaubers have enjoyed the distinct pleasure of traveling with many of their immediate family members to exotic destinations around the globe.
Since sophisticated taste buds and a palate for great wines are part of the Klaubers' genetics, of course, each member of the family appreciates amazing culinary and winery experiences. However, it's the quality time traveling to the next wilderness adventure, or the quiet moment toasting the sunset and anticipating the next day's adventures together which are the most memorable.
On safari, we are allowed to just be… We can simply be present—amongst the wildlife and witness their world. I love catching these glimpses into their world, very similar to ours, with mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers and children. All trying to survive and teach the next generation. Family is all that matters in the end. Protecting, guiding and nurturing, it is truly glorious to watch the animals of safari, to feel inspired and be touched by the experience.
Life changing is the mantra when travelers are lucky enough to visit South Africa; however, I have found that these experiences are the most magical when shared with our dearest family members and friends.
